There is a new version of one of the oldest, if not the oldest, a frontend for MAME - Mame Classic. MC is terribly annoying to set up, does not like the x64, but the Conservatives have a full range of facilities which allows you to bypass all the arcade machines, which are not included in the canon of author Richard A. Insalaco (NeoGeo ranging from nasty :) :).

bsnes-plus (or bsnes+) is a fork of bsnes (based on bsnes-classic) intended to introduce some new features and improvements, mostly aimed at debugging.

Steem SSE is a new version of Steem based on that source release. It incorporates new features and emulation improvements, some of them based on the Hatari  and SainT emulators (this "emulation" goes both ways), some on various internet discussions technical documentation, like chip datasheets, and  tests on real hardware. Steem SSE aims to be the #1 STF/STE emulator. There's no limitation in the original Steem code structure (in C++) that would make that goal unreachable. 'SSE' stands for 'Steven Seagal Edition'. Steven Seagal is a well known Aikido grandmaster, action movie star, musician and playboy. It is rumoured he has a shadowy past working for some secret agencies.  

The new version of the clone Final Burn Alpha - Final Burn Alpha Shuffle - of course, the usual lack of any information, what has changed / improved, as well as the lack of source code. As often happens with compilations Creamymami changed settings with the game list to clear for the European version.
